Romance (French, Italian); Germanic (Dutch, German); Creoles (French-, Dutch-, Portuguese-lexifier)
My research focuses on the influence of external factors (namely biomechanics, cognition and social factors) on grammar (particularly the phonological grammar); I am interested in the architecture of grammatical models and how these can be expanded to encompass factors such as ease of articulation, cognitive weighting, and social preference. I am also interested in the evolution of grammar, particularly in creole formation.
