Farrell Ackerman is Professor of Linguistics at UC San Diego. His research encompasses lexical semantics, morphology, and syntax, viewed from typological and lexicalist perspectives. His recent work has focused on  applying Word & Paradigm models of morphology to constraint based lexicalist theories and, with Irina Nikolaeva, on the typology of certain prenominal relative constructions in the languages of Eurasia. He is co-author, with John Moore, of Proto-properties and Grammatical Encoding: A Correspondence Theory of Argument Selection (CSLI, 2001) and, with Gert Webelhuth, of A Theory of Predicates (CSLI, 1997).
