The Tippy Schwabe Grant for Linguistics Graduate Students
The goals of the grant are:
To encourage UC Davis Linguistics Department graduate students to become active CATESOL members as part of their professional training while in the M.A./Ph.D. programs by
- funding up to ten students each year for a two-year period to attend the CATESOL Northern Regional Conference both years (held in the fall)
- encouraging graduate students to be actively involved in the Northern Regional Conference either by presenting or volunteering at least one of the two years
- promoting attendance at the CATESOL State Conference, if possible, when it is held in the northern area (spring).
The recipient would present or volunteer at this conference or would report on conference sessions attended at a graduate-student or departmental colloquium.
Funding for each grant would include:
- a two-year student membership for CATESOL
- conference fees for two CATESOL regional conferences
- one CATESOL state conference registration.
