Financial Support

Financial aid is available to graduate students through several means, including employment, fellowships, scholarships, awards and loans.
Fellowships and Scholarships
Three endowed sources of funds, the Steven G. Lapointe Award, the Nancy M. Webb Scholarship and the Tippy Schwabe Grant, are available specifically for linguistics graduate students.
Travel Reimbursement
Graduate students are eligible for travel expense reimbursement from the Department of Linguistics for presenting papers or posters at an eligible conference.
Financial Aid
Linguistics graduate students typically obtain substantial financial support through employment as teaching assistants (TAs) and graduate student researchers (GSRs), and additional sources also are available.
