Joanna Nykiel wins APS grant to visit UC Davis

Dr. Joanna Nykiel, a professor from Kyung Hee University in Seoul, has been awarded a prestigious fellowship from the American Philosophical Society to visit UC Davis in the Fall of 2021. Her project, "The size of fragments and memory retrieval", lies at the intersection of psycholinguistics and theoretical linguistics. By means of laboratory research, it explores whether principles of working memory can be brought to bear on the size of fragments (i.e., non-sentential utterances). Welcome back to Davis, Joanna!
