Bio

Ph.D. Candidate in Linguistics working with Dr. Masoud Jasbi and Dr. Fernanda Ferreira. My Masters work focused on multi-word verbs such as (e.g. lift up" and "descend down), assessing how subtle semantic properties impact their processing and encoding. In my dissertation, I focus on the interpretation of logical connectives, specifically disjunction. Ultimately, the aim of the project is to present a complete picture of the factors that influence how speakers interpret "or" in a variety of semantic, syntactic, and prosodic environments.

I have an additional research interest in psychometrics and experimental design, and have published work outside my major projects focused on assessing task pragmatics and explaining variance in results between experimental paradigms.
